09 January 2023 - I'm Back (again)!

I feel really bad that I ended up dropping the blogging before I even managed a whole week, but alas, that is my life where migraines are concerned.

I just about managed to force my way through work on Thursday, but by Friday, I could barely get out of bed (I had to take a sick day at work, despite being at home anyway because I honestly couldn't spend time in front of the computer 😭). Saturday was much the same, although I did manage to have a shower and do some washing (pretty much all I did). Yesterday, I finally managed to spend more time out of bed than in, so despite still feeling queasy and headachy, I decided the migraine is officially over, and today went back to work with a whole load of spreadsheets and pivot tables (perfect for when you have a headache).

Yesterday I managed to catch up with the last episode of a horror podcast I've been following Undertow: Blood Forest, plus a couple of standalone stories by the same production company.

I also caught up with the latest episodes of a couple of K-dramas I've been following, both of which I'm enjoying greatly. The first is Unlock My Boss (ongoing), a corporate mystery fantasy, where the head of a technology company finds himself inside a mobile phone after being murdered and uses his secretary and a stand-in replacement to try to find out who killed him and why.

The second, which somewhat surprisingly is on Amazon Prime (they're not known for having extensive or good Korean content), is Island Season 1 (ongoing), an 18-rated horror story set on Jeju Island, featuring amazing special effects and an interesting plot about a prophecy concerning a woman previously killed by a half-demon demon hunter, who has been reborn, and the catholic priest/exorcist sent to help her fulfil her destiny. This one has several top-quality K-drama stars (including Astro's Cha Eun Woo playing the priest), so I guess they spent some money on it. Sadly, there are only 6 episodes, but hopefully, season 2 will drop soon, rather than make us wait for months or even years.

This evening I watched another ongoing K-drama, The Forbidden Marriage, about a female con artist, who tries to convince the King of Joseon to remove the marriage ban he put in place 7 years before, by pretending to be possessed by his late wife. It's been action-packed so far and is extremely entertaining.

Hopefully, I'm back and will be blogging properly from now on, although once again I missed the midnight deadline - I spent too much time working on my 2022 end-of-year K-Pop list and didn't realise the time. I am hoping to get it completed before the end of the month, although it's hard going. I listened to so much music last year that it's hard to pick a top 20, so I now have about 20 categories to fit everything in . . . and I still can't decide. 😂 This year I really need to be more organised, maybe monthly playlists or something and building the list as I go?

Anyway, today also brought another new K-pop mini-album The Piece of 9 by SF9, and very good it is too. Here is the link to the MV for the lead single Puzzle.

Better Late Than Never?

Well, to be honest, I’m not sure about that. But as I spent the whole of January and part of February getting my end-of-year music lists sor...
