It's a Miracle!

Only 4 days, well technically 5 now as it's after midnight, into the new month, and here I am with a post.

I'm late because it took me several hours longer than expected to create my competition room in Yoworld - recently I've been quite ambitious with them rather than just adding the required elements - and yes, I have been playing almost every day since it was launched in 2008 as Yoville. It's my longest-running game, although Hogwarts Legacy is beginning to feel that way now I'm about 700 hours in - yes, I am looking forward to the update on 6 June that will give me a new quest to do, Harry Potter glasses and an Azkaban prisoner outfit.

It's only going to be a quickie tonight. I was going to change the monthly playlist and thought I couldn't really do that without at least saying hello.

So, last time I was caught in indecision on what was going to take third place in the Top 3 EPs for April. I honestly couldn't decide in the end and chose 2 EPs to be joint third - the fantastic  New Quest: Jungle (Lee Jin Hyuk) and I Like the Way (Kim Woojin).

May was a busy month, which I knew it was going to be, but there were a LOT of releases at the end of the month so I only finished listening to them all yesterday. I still need to go through and sort out all the end-of-month stuff but I think it's going to take a while, so keep a check on the Top 3 lists and I'll update once I've decided.

I know I always say it's a hard choice, but it really is. I mean, D.O., Chen and Suho from EXO all released EPs this month, so there's the top 3 already (if I was completely biased), but so did Ateez and there are some other excellent releases from earlier in the month like Kino's (Pentagon) If This Is Love I Want A Refund.

So far, the only definite album on my list is Ineffa Lucas's frankly quite brilliant wotecomb. I marked it for the top 3 as soon as I heard it. It really is that good.

I have also updated the Reciptify playlist with May's tracks. I also changed it so it now has every top 10 of each month not just the new tracks. I think it shows better which are the tracks in my heart as they crop up month after month - probably a sign that I should change playlists occasionally 😂.

Also, while I remember, I should post my LastFM stats for May.

I doubt anyone will be surprised to hear that the June playlist is already heading towards 100 songs. I'm hoping for a slightly quieter month as most people released in April or May, but we've already had Wayv with the addictive Give Me That and AKMU's Love Episode (you should check out their new MV for Hero. It's such a feelgood song and video).

There was also the second release by Big Ocean called Blow. I can't remember if I've mentioned the band before, but they're making history by being the first K-pop band whose members are all hearing impaired. They've been getting fantastic support from both idols and fans, which is great. Long may they continue. They don't seem to have a music video for the new song, or for their debut release, Glow, which was a remake of the great first-generation boy band H.O.T.'s song Hope, so here's a live performance of it from Inkigayo.

Hopefully, it won't be the end of the month before I post again, but I make no promises. I have a lot of music to listen to first.

Better Late Than Never?

Well, to be honest, I’m not sure about that. But as I spent the whole of January and part of February getting my end-of-year music lists sor...
